Design a cross platform solution for helping people adopt a stray animal from TakisShelter.org
This Project Case Study was conducted during the Google UX Design course I took in February 2022 to obtain the Professional Certificate on UX Design field.
Set up over seven years ago, and with the sole purpose of rescuing the stray, abandoned animals of Crete, Takis Shelter currently cares for over 400 dogs and cats. Based in Ierapetra, in the south of Crete, the rescued dogs and cats have up to 33,000 square meters of private, enclosed olive groves to run around in.
Many platforms do not have the exact information about the pets they host. This is a deterrent that leads people to be reluctant to adopt a pet from these platforms or even returning the pet they adopt.
The aim is to design an experience that would easily help pet lovers to connect with TakisShelter.org and find and adopt pets on easy process.
I conducted interviews and created surveys to understand the users I’m designing for and their needs. The primary user group identified through research are pet lovers. They can be the first time pet owners as well as existing parents or family members to have a pet.
